Thoughtful Tuesday: Why Patience Matters

Posted on: May 24, 2011

Despite what technology we may have at our fingertips, not everything happens at the speed of light. Some things take time to manifest the way we need them to be in order to fully utilize them for our benefit. The bigger your goal, the longer it will take to get there. Your patience level will definitely be tested during your journey. This is a good thing because the more your patience is tested the stronger it becomes every time you pass – and yes, you WILL pass!

*pulls out needle*

I love you, Rockstar, but it’s time to burst yet another bubble. Lean in closely. I want these words to penetrate deeply into your mind. Are you ready? You sure? This might hurt a bit! (Patiently awaits answer.) <–See?! Prime example of having patience! You’re tensing up; relax! Now are you ready? Okay, here it goes.

*clears throat*

There is no such thing as an overnight success!

*applies Neosporin and bandage*

*wipes away tears & gives you a hug*

I know, I know. That hurt and I apologize, but it was for your own good. No one on the face of this earth went to bed beat down and torn up by life and woke up a billionaire! Even Bill Gates and Paul Allen took years to become billionaires with the success of Microsoft! (Do you even know who Paul Allen is? No? Time to expand your knowledge!)

Anything worth having is worth working towards. Anything worth working for is going to require patience.

Are you still not convinced that patience is the way to go? Okay, think about it like this. You’re hungry. You have two options. You could a) fix a healthy meal at home, or b) drive to your nearest fast food place. Fixing your own meal will take some time, but you will know exactly what’s in it, how it was prepared and you’re guaranteed to like it because you made it (unless you’re experimenting, but if you’re really hungry you’ll stick with what you know!). Going to the fast food place will feed you instantly but you have no clue what’s really in it, you’ll feel bloated and sluggish and there’s no guarantee if you’ll like it even if you’ve had the meal a hundred times.

The longer you let something marinate and prepare, the better it will be in the end. That marinating process requires patience; success requires the same thing. Not everything will be received quick, fast and in a hurry. Some things require more time.

You CAN get past being impatient! There is a way to get over that hurdle which seems to be along everyone’s journey. It can be cleared! Want to know how?

We’ll discuss that tomorrow!

Ah! Ah! Ah! Remember….be patient! It’s coming!

Wait for it…

“The bigger your goal, the longer it will take to get there.” I guess if you are impatient you should dream small. Patience is something I WILL acquire because I dream BIG. Thanks for the motivation!
